Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of TackleDex. By using the app, you agree to use it responsibly, follow applicable laws, respect other anglers' privacy, and keep fishing safety first.

Fishing Rules and Safety

TackleDex is not a replacement for Ontario's official fishing regulations, Fisheries Management Zone rules, exceptions, limits, closures, advisories, or licence requirements. Always check official sources before fishing. Do not use TackleDex to justify unsafe, illegal, or out-of-season fishing.

Accounts

You are responsible for your account activity and for keeping your sign-in access secure. TackleDex may restrict accounts that abuse the service, submit false catches, harass others, evade privacy safeguards, or violate these terms.

Your Content

You keep ownership of catch photos, notes, handles, crew names, reports, and other content you submit. You grant TackleDex permission to host, process, display, transform, and share that content as needed to provide logging, verification, progression, sharing, reporting, moderation, support, and crew features.

Do not upload content you do not have the right to use. Do not upload illegal, harassing, hateful, exploitative, unsafe, spam, or privacy- invasive content.

Privacy-Safe Sharing

Do not attempt to expose another angler's exact fishing spot without permission. TackleDex is designed to keep exact GPS hidden from leaderboards, share cards, and crew surfaces, and you agree not to work around those protections.

Pro and Purchases

TackleDex Pro is sold through Apple in-app purchase where available. Prices, trials, renewal terms, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple according to your App Store account settings and Apple's policies. Subscription features may change over time as the app evolves, but TackleDex will not intentionally remove paid access to active entitlements without a replacement or support path.

Competitions

Crew Cups are private friend competitions for progress, trophies, and bragging rights. Local Events must follow event rules and applicable laws. Apple is not a sponsor of, or involved in, TackleDex competitions, Crew Cups, Local Events, or prize decisions. TackleDex does not currently operate real-money gambling, lotteries, raffles, or cash-prize contests in the app.

Reports and Moderation

Users may report content or profiles for cheating, harassment, spam, unsafe content, privacy concerns, or other issues. TackleDex may review, remove, restrict, preserve, or disclose content when needed for moderation, support, safety, legal compliance, or service protection.

Availability and Changes

TackleDex may change, pause, or discontinue features. We aim to keep core logging, privacy, and account features reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect data accuracy, or that every waterbody, species, regulation, or condition is covered.

Disclaimers

TackleDex is provided as a fishing companion and progression app. It is not legal advice, safety advice, professional guide service, emergency service, or an official government source. You are responsible for your own fishing decisions, licences, safety, equipment, local rules, and conditions.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, TackleDex is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, lost profits, missed catches, unsafe decisions, or third-party conduct arising from use of the app.

Termination

You may stop using TackleDex at any time and may request account deletion from Settings. TackleDex may suspend or terminate access if we believe continued use creates legal, safety, privacy, security, moderation, or service-integrity risk.
